Network problems are among the most difficult
to diagnose. We know this from experience. The source of a
networking problem may originate:
- at the remote site (e.g. a web
server being down)
- within the ISP (Internet Service
Provider)
- in the wiring to your location
- in the DSL/Cable modem
- in a router
- in wireless networking impasse
(interference, obstacles)
- in the cabling
- in a NIC (Network Interface Card)
- in the operating system
- in the network settings
- in a user misconception
- or any combination of the above!
Often, just turning equipment off and on again will solve
the apparent problem. Often it won’t. We use a proven
methodology based on a divide-and-conquer strategy using diagnostic
equipment and known good hardware and software to isolate
the problem(s). Trying to diagnose networking problems without
the proper equipment and a robust technique can take from
hours to days to solve.
We keep a full line of home networking equipment in stock,
from RJ-45 pass-throughs to 108Mbps wireless routers. We test
our equipment on working systems before we install it in yours.
